Google is rolling out a new Classroom connection for Gemini that allows the AI assistant to work with a teacher’s existing assignments, class materials and other Classroom information.
That means teachers can ask Gemini for help based on what is actually happening in their classes, rather than having to provide all the context manually. Google says the feature is available globally in English for Google Workspace for Education users aged 18 and over.
Why this matters
For schools already using Google Classroom, this could make Gemini considerably more useful for everyday planning, differentiation and identifying learning needs.
It is also another sign that AI tools are moving closer to the systems teachers already use, making clear school guidance around appropriate AI use increasingly important.
