Position Description

We are a vibrant and growing STEM-focused school committed to providing our students with a rigorous and engaging education that prepares them for success in the 21st century. 


We utilize the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) as a foundation for our curriculum, ensuring that our students graduate with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in college and beyond. 


We also offer a wide range of Advanced Placement (AP) courses in STEM subjects, allowing our high-achieving students to further challenge themselves and earn college credit. 


About the Role: 

We are seeking a passionate and experienced educational leader to serve as the principal of our secondary school. 


The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a deep understanding of STEM education and a commitment to CCSS implementation. They will be responsible for providing instructional leadership, managing the school budget, overseeing staff development, and building strong relationships with the school community. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Provide instructional leadership that fosters a culture of innovation and excellence in STEM education. Ensure effective implementation of the CCSS throughout the school. 

  • Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive STEM curriculum, including AP courses. 

  • Recruit, hire, and retain high-quality teachers and staff. 

  • Provide professional development opportunities for teachers and staff. Create a positive and inclusive school climate that supports the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students. 

  • Manage the school budget and other resources effectively. Build strong relationships with parents, community members, and stakeholders. 

  • Represent the school at local, state, and national events. 


Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree in education administration or a related field. 

  • Minimum of five years of experience as a school administrator, preferably in a STEM-focused school. 

  • Proven track record of success in implementing CCSS and AP programs. 

  • Strong instructional leadership skills. 

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. 

  • A deep understanding of STEM education and its importance in the 21st century. 

  • A commitment to equity and inclusion.
