Position Description
We are a vibrant and growing STEM-focused school committed to providing our students with a rigorous and engaging education that prepares them for success in the 21st century.
We utilize the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) as a foundation for our curriculum, ensuring that our students graduate with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in college and beyond.
We also offer a wide range of Advanced Placement (AP) courses in STEM subjects, allowing our high-achieving students to further challenge themselves and earn college credit.
About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced educational leader to serve as the principal of our secondary school.
The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a deep understanding of STEM education and a commitment to CCSS implementation. They will be responsible for providing instructional leadership, managing the school budget, overseeing staff development, and building strong relationships with the school community.
Responsibilities:
Provide instructional leadership that fosters a culture of innovation and excellence in STEM education. Ensure effective implementation of the CCSS throughout the school.
Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive STEM curriculum, including AP courses.
Recruit, hire, and retain high-quality teachers and staff.
Provide professional development opportunities for teachers and staff. Create a positive and inclusive school climate that supports the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students.
Manage the school budget and other resources effectively. Build strong relationships with parents, community members, and stakeholders.
Represent the school at local, state, and national events.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in education administration or a related field.
Minimum of five years of experience as a school administrator, preferably in a STEM-focused school.
Proven track record of success in implementing CCSS and AP programs.
Strong instructional leadership skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
A deep understanding of STEM education and its importance in the 21st century.
