Vibe Coding for Teachers: Creating Interactive Lessons Without Learning to Code

Join James Abela and Steve Miller for a practical, hands-on session exploring vibe coding - a new way of creating interactive learning materials and automating everyday teaching tasks using plain English prompts.

This session is designed specifically for teachers who do not teach Computer Science. No coding knowledge is required.

Participants will see how tools such as Canva Code and Google Opal can be used to:

• Turn static slides and worksheets into interactive activities
• Add quick engagement to lessons without extra software
• Automate planning, summaries, and routine admin tasks
• Save time while improving what students see and interact with

The session will also address the limits of vibe coding, helping teachers understand when these tools work well, where caution is needed, and how to use them responsibly in a classroom context.

Expect live demonstrations, practical examples, and time to try things out yourself. The focus is on confidence, clarity, and realistic classroom use rather than technical depth.
