Theme: Humanizing and Indigenizing Our Pedagogy

As international educators, we often navigate systems that were not designed with our diverse identities and lived experiences in mind. To foster more inclusive and just learning environments, we must humanize and indigenize our pedagogy by centering the voices, traditions, and ways of knowing of Indigenous peoples. Our second in-person conference will provide a sacred space for collective healing, reflection, growth, and action toward liberatory teaching practices that honor the land, community, and intergenerational wisdom.

Please complete the following form if you would like to attend our second in-person conference. In the spirit of dismantling dominant power structures—including White Supremacy culture—our sessions will be hands-on and co-constructed. They will offer participants knowledge and understandings that are explicitly grounded in effective instructional practices/strategies and research. The conference sessions will:

• Recognize existing teacher expertise and build on it by engaging participants in active learning experiences.
• Give participants actionable information; you will leave ready to implement what you have learned and feel empowered.
• Dig deeper into effective ways to implement educational standards and content.
• Center on humanizing and indigenizing practices, diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.
