About the French International School, Hong Kong :

The French International School (FIS) is the oldest international school in Hong Kong, established in 1963. It was also the first school in Hong Kong to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) program in 1988. FIS is a dynamic educational institution that caters to over 2,700 students from around the world, making it one of the largest French schools in Asia. We are currently celebrating our 60th anniversary.

FIS operates four campuses, all of which accommodate students in the International Stream. The primary campuses are located in different areas of Hong Kong. One primary campus is situated in Jardine's Lookout, surrounded by greenery. Another campus is located by the sea in Tseung Kwan O, while the third early years campus is in Chai Wan, known for its beautiful surroundings. The secondary campus is situated at Blue Pool Road, which is at the heart of Hong Kong Island.

FIS has experienced significant growth over the past five decades as a private, not-for-profit organisation. It started as a small school with only 35 students and has now become one of the most renowned international schools in the region. FIS prides itself on its multicultural learning environment, with students from 40 countries and diverse linguistic backgrounds speaking around 30 different languages.

FIS operates two streams: the French Stream and the International Stream. The French Stream follows the French national curriculum and has approximately 2,700 students.

In the International Stream, the Primary division implemented the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and International Primary Curriculum (IPC) in 2017. In 2019, FIS conducted a self-review of the IEYC and IPC with its faculty before the pre-accreditation visit, which is now called Recognition. In the 2020/21, the International Stream Primary successfully completed the IEYC/IPC Accreditation process. The secondary division also implements the IMYC.

FIS is actively involved in the IEYC and IPC community, with members of its team participating in the steering committees, attending and presenting workshops at the ICA (International Curriculum Association) conference, and providing training and mentoring for the ICA. The Principal of the International Primary division at FIS serves as an ICA accreditation team leader.
