PBL in Action: Rewriting the Curriculum
with Robyn Collins & Richard Lee PhD, Saint Too Bloom Academy
This session looks at how Project-Based Learning (PBL) can be used to rethink curriculum in a practical, student-centred way. Robyn Collins and Richard Lee share how the PBL cycle helps students deepen their understanding of core subjects by applying what they learn to real-world contexts and documenting their progress through portfolios.
The session explores a hybrid model that combines online learning, in-school workshops, and hands-on fieldwork. Students develop professional skills in areas such as biology, law, architecture, medicine, and archaeology, while building independence, confidence, and resilience. Designed to be flexible and inclusive, the programme supports learners of all abilities through personalised guidance and adaptive pathways, with portfolio assessments that can result in university-level work such as biodiversity reports or heritage studies.
Join this session to see how PBL can move beyond projects and become a powerful framework for curriculum design and real-life learning.
