The Korea International School Counselor Association (KISCA) is pleased to invite you to the upcoming Future Ready Counseling Conference, taking place on November 22 (Pre-Conference) and November 23, 2024, at St Johnsbury Academy in Jeju, South Korea.

Margaret Park, Keynote speaker.

The keynote speaker for this year is Margaret Park, an education equity consultant and Fulbright scholar.

Park will deliver a keynote address on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, and Belonging (DEIJB), focusing on leadership development for counsellors through an equity and justice lens.

Coaching sessions will follow to support participants in applying these insights to their campus practices.

The pre-conference on November 22 will feature a session titled The School Counselor’s Role in Suicide Prevention & Response, led by Heidi Mermis-Cava and Gloria Kim. After this session, attendees are invited to join a networking social hosted by Mario Education.

On the main conference day, November 23, participants can choose from nine curated sessions across three time slots, designed for both social-emotional and college and career counsellors.

Among the highlights is Kyuseok Kim’s session on Understanding the History of Korean Education and Its Relevance to the Contemporary Landscape, aimed at deepening university admissions counselors’ understanding of South Korea's evolving higher education system.

Amanda Sheffield’s session, Future-Ready Family, will explore the vital role of parents in student success and discuss how to create effective parent education programs.

Additionally, the conference will feature job-alike sessions and outreach tables from partner organisations that regularly support counseling offices. This event offers valuable learning opportunities, networking, and resources for counselors in Korea and the East Asia region.
